I'm sorry I never answered, but the problem sort of solved itself anyway. The Beocenter was too big and too heavy for the purpose I had in mind, so I simply sold it on in the condition it was in….

Hi there, I'm looking for a volume slider (or one of the other small ones) from a Beomaster 1200. (Yes, once again. But last time it was a BM 3000 ) Just bought a BM 1200 on eBay. Paid a ridiculously high price for it (at least for the condition it is in), but it actually includes a original wall mount! Hasn't even arrived yet, but I thought

It's glued directly onto the chassis, so not really interchangeable if you ask me. According to the Service Manual the only way to change it is to scrape off the old trim (thereby destroying it) and stick a new one on there So if you could find a matching piece of veneer...

I replaced the ones on mine with these: http://www.visaton.de/de/car_hifi/koax/dx4x6p_4.html Sounds great (better than before anyway ) and they weren't that expensive (20€ off eBay). You should be able to use any 4x6 car speakers - they usually are 4Ω, but that doesn't really matter (a bit quieter if at all).

Just fixed the lid mechanism on a Beocenter 5000. The thing was broken and had been stuck in one position for years, and as a result the damping grease was sort of hardened. It was no more merely "sticky" but rather so sticky you couldn't move that thing at all. So now everything is cleaned and working again; but the lid is opening way

I guess if you say it's B&O it must be. It just looked different from everything else in there (different circuit board, some different components and nothing printed on there) so I assumed it wasn't B&O. The number is only 6140099, without the 'B'. Replacing the caps will be the next thing to do, I just don't have replacements

Hi all, Just a short update to let you know I haven't given up yet. What has happened so far: I replaced the coupling thingy with the one Martin sent me (thanks again!) - the 'new' one even looks like an improved version. This led me right to the next problem - I hadn't even noticed that the whole radio circuit wasn't working anyway

Hi Menahem, That was actually the first thing I thought of. From what I heard and read so far the original ones sound not that good anyway. The problem is that new Pioneer speakers are more expensive than a spare BM... But anyway, I still take that into consideration.
