where can you see this in the menu? I have BV9 with 8.12a
Menu | Options There are two new items under there in 8.12a - Beo4 Setting (for 'Navigation Button') and Feature Activation (for HDMI distribution)

Lots of info! It's not totally clear - can you have a 1710 in the main room with a TV that supports Navigation Button (e.g. BV7 with Software 8.12a), and have an older Beo4 in a link room with a TV that doesn't? Or do you need system-wide support for it? Which TVs can be updated to support this? e.g. by BV7 can, but I've no idea about the

Unfortunately, as the intructions say, you need the Sony PS3-REBL PUC. If you don't have this, you can try a Sony DVD player if you have one listed. Else it's off to ring the dealer to get it added...

There's only one DVI port, so it's probably PC or Apple TV. That said, while Apple TV appears to only have component or HDMI, it would seem it can be made to output composite video (which can be used via SCART adaptor) with a bit of buggering about: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/10/18/eb_apple_tv_composite_hack/

Sure the TV not turning off, DTV not working are nothing to do with Sky? What's the DVD issue - the BV8 doesn't have a DVD player built in, so what player is it? Is the IR blaster plugged in and connected to the DVD player? Is the PUC selected correctly? Has it ever worked? For what it's worth, when the Sky box is connected and set up correctly

All signals are processed, not just digital ones. Any LCD/Plasma TV has a 'digital' display. Some have a variety of picture processing (such as the pixelworks chip in the BS3) that clean up or enhance the picture. Everything and anything's going to go through this - analogue will need to be sampled digitally, and digital just fed straight

Shockingly, that featurelist sounds like they've started listening to people?! Will be interesting to see how this develops!
