  • Re: BeoVision 6 Issues - some for everybody?

I have a BC6, not a BV6 but I can tell you than on mine 1, 2 and 3 works as the manual instructions above. To blank the screen you need to use Picture Mute in the Beo4 list. As for the rest, I use the integrated DVB-T module only so have not tried text or any mute functions. Maybe there's a difference in this respect between the BV and BC, but I've

  • Re: RL60 Speaker Straps

It's the sunlight that's the problem. The plastic the straps are made of - polyester I believe - will eventually become brittle due to the exposure to ultra-violet light. The fact that the straps are not coloured makes the problem worse as the UV penetrates deeper. Mine lasted a good 15 years, which I suppose is not too bad, but if B&O had

  • Re: RL60 Speaker Straps

I used some polyester ribbon on my own RL45s (now retired to the loft). You can get it in the right width from any good arts and craft store. And you have a choice of colours. I used black which looked a lot more stylish than the original, if not so authentic.

  • Re: Beovision 7 picture lag

Sorry, Puncher. I meant that the DVD comparison was not likely to prove much in terms of "unfit for purpose". On your second point, I agree that we might like to think that B&O prices mean we will the best performance in every respect but surely you can't really believe that a company the size of B&O can outperform the R&D

  • Re: Beovision 7 picture lag

Rob, You sound really unhappy with the BV7 but, whatever your magistrate friend tells you, I do not think you are likely to be successful with an unfit for purpose claim after two years. If you are that unhappy I suggest you either try an HD service such as Sky (have you checked the signal strength your DTV tuner is picking up?) or cut your losses now

  • Re: Televisions!

You can use any DVD VCR with a B&O TV. Which is pretty handy because the B&O options are so limited. The biggest challenge is to find a box that doesn'tt look like a piece of junk next to (or below) the B&O. On your second point, B&O CRT prices have dropped off a lot because it just doesn't seem that smart to spend more than

  • Re: Why do YOU buy into Bang and Olufsen?

I bought my first B&O item in 1986. I've bought a few non-B&O items of AV equipment since then and, although I saved money, I never achieved the same joy of ownership. For me it's the design and the quality of B&O products that hook me in. Everything that leaves the factory looks as though it was designed and manufactured by people

  • Re: BV7 Freeview upgrade

I don't know whether your model can accept the Freeview upgrade but note that if fitted it is permanently assigned to the SAT/DTV button so you will only have one STB-C controller available to you (via the V-AUX button). Depending on your configuration, that may be something to consider.

  • Sony DVD control via Beo4

Hi Beoworld, I spotted on a recent post that the latest STB-C DVD list from B&O includes a couple of Sony options - including the RDR-HX1010 dvd and hard disk recorder. Before I get the PUC codes updates, I wondered if anyone has tried contolling one of the more recent Sony recorders using the generic 1010 setting? Later models include the RDR-HXD770

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen sees FY loss on weak pre-Xmas sales

This thread looks like it will go the same way as many others - B&O is pricing itself out of the market. Well, the prices are certainly high but is B&O really suffering more than Sony and the like? Or the carmakers? B&O certainly has to look to be more efficient and they will certainly see sales suffer as the economy declines. But the solution
