As these speakers cost next to nothing these days I could buy another pair to get them renovated and than listen to the difference..

Just installed my "new" beosystem 7000, just for fun/comparison also connected my beogram CDX, put a CD with Bach's partitas by Murray Perahia in, and guess what? The CDX sounds best! More natural sound compared to the beogram cd7000, which sound more clinical/mettalic. Unbelievable. Just needed to share this experience...

Reading the numerous positive comments about the replacement of old capacitators in old speakers, I wondered if my 1978 s45-2 speakers would benefit. Is it safe to say that every old speaker will benefit from replacement?

Hmm, drifting a bit off specs here.. Anyway the reactions above could be summarized as good but not excellent speakers. So I'll keep my uniphases. Besides that I think that wall-mounting a RL 7000 is even more dominant than putting them on a floorstand.

How should I rate the sound quality of the Red line series? I never listened to one, but came across some RL 7000's so I wondered how I should place these speakers in the perspective of B&o speakerdesign. Or is it beter to buy a sony blue ray as mentioned above, and make the beocenter 2 an audio-only version? What kind of "set box" is ment

What speakers my friend is planning to use? Think about to advise either Beolab 4000, beolab 3 or beolab 8000 for both sound from the TV and music CD listening. Perhaps the 4000's are the "best buy".
-
Another question; a friend of mine is looking for a combined CD/DVD player to go with her Philips 42 inch LCD. Would the Beocenter 2 be a good choice? There is remarkable little discussion on this site about this particular Beocenter. The looks are great, the combination of CD/DVD sounds clever? Recommended?

I've had a 4400 but sold it recently because I missed the advantages of the modern era sets (remote control etc). Heard the 4400 through S45-2's and the difference with the 45-2's coupled to the 9500 was in fact astonishing, in volume and "body". I didn't knew the S45-2's were capable of such powerfull sound. However, listening
