I know it needs a fully wired powerlink cable, but will it not work if plugged into a powerlink socket for rear surround on an avant??

I agree with the above, its all personal preference. Get your dealer to bring them to you and demo in home, mine did and they sound totally different!

I have done the same with my setup I have a 7.4 and pentas i find my set up ok! I was told to plug the 7.4 into a front speaker plug and not the centre speaker?? Hope that may help in some way Cheers Nick
