  • Re: My tale of good fortune!!

Hi Nick, Glad you like the cables and the CD! I agree with you about the sound of Beolab Pentas, they are excellent speakers! Personally, I prefer the sound when the mid/treble panel in the centre of the left-hand speaker has been turned through 180 degrees, ie. so that both tweeters are on the inner edge. This gives the sound a little more crispness

  • Re: masterlink cables best place

Hi Bentleyman, Thanks for the recommendation! Yes, I can build Masterlink cables to any length required in either black or white. Steve, please feel free to ask if you would like details. Best regards, Steve.

  • Re: HDMI cable debate/confusion...

Hi seethroughyou, Cooldude and Peter are right, but there are a few other issues to consider:- 1) HDMI cables which GENUINELY meet the 1.3c standard are normally always good enough (beware of cheap imports which may have all sorts of random claims printed on them though!) 2) Good cabling practice is particularly important here, ie. run the cables away

  • Re: How independent is Beoworld?

[quote user="Ian"] The 'sponsors' of Beoword are: LifestyleAV, Struer Design, Sounds Heavenly and STB Brackets. Obviously we know that Lifestyle AV is owned/run by Lee Marriott, Struer Design is owned by John Marriott, and Sounds Heavenly is owned by Steve Marriott. It looks less likely that 'only 1 business per genre can advertise'

  • Re: new masterlink

Hi, Don't be too surprised at the route B&O are taking - LexCom came up with a similar idea (albeit using CAT-5e cabling) a few years back. Now that CAT-7 has been ratified using STP (shielded twisted pair) cables, with the bandwidth to handle Full HD video as well as analogue/digital audio and high-speed broadband internet, it is likely that

  • Remote Extender for Beolink 1000/Beo4

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has found a good infrared remote control extender that will work with Beolink 1000 and Beo4 to allow the remotes to be used in a different room from the main system? All the ones I've tried so far are fine for "normal" remotes, but they just ignore B&O remotes! Thanks, Steve.

  • Re: Beogram cable question

Hello Adam, If the cable is an original 1980's B&O one, there is a fair chance that the DIN plug has a plastic cover that can be slid back to show the wiring inside. If you can get to see inside the plug, the left channel signal wire is on pin 3 (the second pin from one end of the ring of pins). You can usually trace this back visually into

  • Re: Beomaster 2400 volume playing an lp on a Beogram 4004

Hi, This does sound as though there is a problem with the Beomaster. The RIAA pre-amp was an integral part of the 2400, so the only options would really be either repairing it or plugging the Beogram into the Tape input using an external RIAA pre-amp (such as the one linked to above) Best regards, Steve.

  • Re: Beomaster 1500 to PC?

Hi Ray, Sorry for the slow reply, as we've been busy moving to larger premises over the last couple of weeks. The cable you need (Beomaster output to 3.5mm minijack) is the same cable that is often used to play an iPod into an older Beovision TV, so I stock them as an "iPod to Beovision cable". Hope this helps! Steve.
