I can't say I am enjoying the read, but it is an intriguing one. That said, if I am going to part with 11 large for a pair of speakers, I will appreciate and thoughtfully listen to what people say and base my decision on what I, not they, think are my reasons for buying. Actually, I think most people do something similar. Edit: PS, If that didn't

The first DDD I bought was "Brothers in Arms". 25 years later I still envision it being recorded in a concrete bunker. There are so many variables, including my ears, that I just don't worry about it anymore. But I do not listen to that CD, though I think the content is wonderful.

A long time ago, Dave Moulton answered that specifically (I don't remember if to the board or to a pm), recommending straight placement. If acoustic lens technology is real, then that answer makes sense. But then, I am currently listening to a BS1 pointed the wrong direction, so what do I know?

Happy and Joyous and Peaceful New Year to all. And may 2001 bring a sub-board, possibly made in China and called BeoMensa, for those too intelligent for the current ones. Ray.

Most other products are subsidiaries of subsidiaries these days. I don't mind the odd person having a pop at me either - feel free to disagree

They have stopped using white plastic long time ago. Look at a recent iMac... what do you see? Aluminium and Glass. Then look at a Beovision 7... Interesting. I am looking at my brand spanking new MacBook, and it is shiny white plastic. Hmmmmmmmh. But in all honesty, it was just meant to be a figure of speech. Let me add while I am not an Apple fanboy
After many frustrating years of dissatisfaction with my Beosound 2 (clunky Beomedia software, on numerous occasions failing to recognise there is a Beosound 2 attached, inability to work with itunes etc. etc., impossible-to-memorise press button combinations to, for instance, get it to play random), I have taken the plunge

@Dude1, Interesting points. I took a different look this morning at what you have been saying the last couple of days, and now think I get it. Thanks for the wake up call and my trip down memory lane. When I worked in a textile plant on night shift, I sometimes stopped at the Mercedes dealer on my way home. In '74, fell in love with the 450 SLC

What if buyers decide that a premium product should be made in Denmark, and vote with their feet?
Then they would buy a BS4? and not an entry level product? Should it be the more you pay, the 'premium' products are made in DK/EU? Otherwise if BS8 was made
