Are there any versions of the BV7-40 (pre mk3) that have an s video connection on the camcorder inputs? The reference manual does not show one but perhaps that is for the mk1.

Panic over. I thought B&O were discontinuing MCL compatibility. ...But why was something so essential overlooked when the TV was introduced? I assume it's an expensive dealer visit to update the software? If these improvements are "worth having" they should surely have been available 'out of the box' rather than a few months

Are there any more TV's in the current range not backward compatible like this?

The Mk2 reference manual states that the DVI and component connections can be used "In conjunction with an AV socket". It does not say that only one or the other can be assigned at once. Maybe others can confirm who are using more than one HD source with a Mk2? This TV does seem short of connections for many. I need an Svideo or VGA input

What a pleasant surprise! Great to have Beoworld back.

The specs of the BV10 show the stand only adding 11cm or just over 4" so it's not too drastic. The overall height of this 40" TV is actually less than the 32" Avant. The '10' is also wider so looks almost square - IMO better proportioned. Still it appears they could have easily reduced the height by 10cm or more. Why do these

I noticed a big difference changing from an LX5500 to an Avant 32. The LX blended in perfectly but the Avant dominates the room space far too much. The reason is the height dimension only. It is around 10cm higher than I would like. Interestingly, this portrait rather than landscape design has been carried over to the BV10. Preferring the low wide look

B&O have been increasing the height of its TV floor stands. For e.g (overall height in brackets) 8800 34 (84) LX5500 34 (86) MX6000 34 (103) 6-26 48 (106) 7-32 53 (110) Even the bulky Avant stands at 108 - below the slender BV7-32. The BV6-26 also has a very high stand for its size. BV3 on its castor stand stood a massive 121. BV7-40 is 124. Is

Thanks for the replies. I am reassured that these fans are not quite as problematic as I first thought. I assume CRT's don't need them due to the larger volume of the heat sinks etc. If the fans are totally inaudible I am happy. I have heard Sky plus boxes and DVD recorders with quite noisy fans which are very distracting. BV7 Mk3 seems to be

Do all B&O LCD TV's have cooling fans? I read on here that many are a nuisance on some models in addition to slow 'boot up' times. I am tempted by a BV7 MK2 but if it has a fan I'll forget it and keep my (silent) Avant. David
