This is mentioned here from time to time. I f I remember correctly, the receiver can´t cancel the payments, only the sender. Don't think the receiver should spend time and effort to refund persons who missed the cancelation.
Hardly. Inertia isn't a viable excuse. The title for the bill included

Dear all, I suggest you check any standing orders or Paypal payments to Solonica - listed as Beoworld Connoisseur's Club Payment. Each one should be for about £15 (or whatever passes for your local currency). I've found that I've still been making payments since June 2007 even though this outfit did not own or maintain the Beoworld

Well I was just changing the 160GB disk in my Beomedia for a 500GB SATA disk and I accidentally formatted the BM-System partition :( Does anyone have a drive image that I can grab? It is 1004MB so not tooo huge....

Put your videos in the Photo folder and select the movie as if you are looking at a photo and it will play. Note that FF/REW pause all work too.

You can play movies on the BM1 - jut install VLC. The BM1 isn't fast enough though to play back HD movies, while the ATV can.
Actually here in France the major channels are in full HD. But the issue is less broadcast than VOD : Bluray is about movies, broadcast is about news, sports, junk, etc.
AFAIK France is not transmitting Full HD (1080p)

I'm afraid disk cloning software doesn't work that way - they need to know what format the disk is in so that it can work on working on sector and cluster copying. Extending the partition size involves changing the FAT (or equivalent). As the unit is IIRC a Philips unit - maybe there is some research done on the disk format on the equivalent

I put a 1GB memory card into the BM1 and it IS faster on running video. This is because the memory buffer for video will less likely be paged out to disk if the machine is up to something. Next is the disk upgrade. I'm putting in a PATA to SATA converter and a 500GB disk I have lying around.

Quite. It would be ideal to pull the ML card drivers out of the embedded WinXP as well as the beomedia app (which strangely, i quite like), then put them into a better spec'd machine..
