rmclachlan: Thanks for the replies. There wont be any issues with blu-ray on the 720p screen i.e. loss of quality? I dont think its wise to get caught up in the 1080v720 debate. On a 50 in screen there is so little difference that to appreciate the very small change you would need to sit on top of the screen. 1080 is marketing hype to sell more tvs

moxxey: 355f: Actually there is nothing wrong with scart. whats wrong is the poor quality of the lcd panels- whats the point of HDMI with panel quality presently being used? To be fair though, I'm not disappointed with my BV7-40 PQ and, the customer has to be disappointed, to reflect that comment, 355f. I doubt you'd see too many people on here

Alex: What's wrong with Scart? It can carry RGB signals which are as good as SD gets. B&O have good reasons for not moving into the Blu-Ray market yet. I personally have found all Blu-Ray players to be very clunky. Actually there is nothing wrong with scart. whats wrong is the poor quality of the lcd panels- whats the point of HDMI with panel

have a look at the new pioneer LCD- the nearest to plasma performance I have seen- fat better image quality than a BV8!

benjnz: Not really doomed though are they, it will just result in a slight fall in sales nothing else. After all being a luxury high end brand, the customer who would faint over any B&O price is arguably not their target market. They're moving more into the - "If you have to ask the price tag, then you can't afford it" area of

TWG: there is vo valid argument to keep the high sale price when they can manufacture the product for 70% less. But they don't lower the price. 10.000 Euro for a "Made in China" B&O-TV? They can fool another one but not me. And believe me, people want quality. While moving the production e.g. to China B&O is just BOSE: Design and

There will always be examples of companies who continue to produce in their home countries- how profitable they are and how long they wil last is another issue. Fact is im not aware of one high end brand that is not sourcing, part developing or considering a complete move to China. pricing is under great pressure and its impossible to market product

vlohjr1: what about 7-40 mkII if it is hd ready at 720p can it be retrofitted? some dealers think it is possible next year? There is no reason why not. Just wait a bit though and see real world performance of this unit, how it handles SDdvd playback, if the player is profile 2 compliant and how it is updated and how often- !!

TripEnglish: As my mother always said, "If you can't say anything nice, your screen name is 355f and you post anonymously on an online forum." Or something like that. Name and address supplied on request. Its about realism- not if you cant say anything nice. And clearly im not alone otherwsie the sales would not be in serious decline would

timhanna: Weebyx: timhanna: Weebyx, keep the BV7. Your dealer is clever and playing a familiar trick. This B&O or no B&O... tell him: "A working TV or my money back plus petrol" I had a similar issue, had a problem with a caged item, my dealer said, I dont want to sell you another caged item... Anyway, hes giving you a 'good'
