• Re: Beosound 9000 discontinued,,,,,
I understand why B&O have done this, but what is worrying is that this leaves a lot of the B&O customers no option but to listen to MP3 through their systems (BeoSound 5 still doesn't support Apple Lossless).
While it is true the BS5 does not support Apple Lossless, it does support FLAC and lossless

  • Re: Beolink Wireless 1 faults

Stoobie, The software upgrade allows the timer function to work (this is why I had mine upgraded - at no cost as they were still under warrenty). I believe it also is needed if you want to connect a BL Active, Passive, BL3500 (or other ML device) to the ML port on the receive side (I tested connecting an Active to the ML port on the receiver just the

  • Re: Beolink Wireless 1 faults
I found that they are very sensitive to ALL of them being at the same S/W release level
I have heard this as well. This is also a challenge because, without a special programming tool, there is no way to know what version of software is installed. Mine have no sticker, and the upgrade is not a new chip, but

  • Re: Beolink passive/active/beolink wireless compatibility?

Just completing this thread. I did test this today - connecting a BeoLink Active to the ML port of a BeoLink Wireless1 receiver, and it all worked fine. On/Off, source selection, timer function, PC input, etc. all worked 100%. The key is to not use the PL ports or IR port on the wireless. Why would anybody want to do this? My assumption is that if one

  • Re: Beosound 9000 with Beosound 5

This is exactly what I do (although I have a BV8 instead of BV5). It works just like Stefan says. Stan

  • Re: DAC's used in in B&O products

This may be a valid test scenario as you can use the same speakers, music, room and location. I guess there may be some question as to the different signal paths between N.Music and PC through the BV (does the N.Music signal go directly to the speakers without the BV modifying it? Does the SPDIF input go through any surround sound processors?). If you're

  • Re: beolink wireless

Yes, I seem to be the lucky one. It took me 3 tries to find the right placement - luckily I already have a lot of ML running through the house so I had some options that were not difficult to test. I transmit from a shelf behind my BV8 in room on my first floor to a room directly above on the 2nd (maybe 10ft total distance). It's about 30ft away

  • Re: Wife doesn't like BeoLab 9s

I just remembered another line from this exchange... I said "but they sound much better", and she says dismissively "you're the only one that cares about that!" With all due respect to the BL5s, I don't see those ever landing in my home (at least as long as I'm married, and it's been a very good 18 yrs so I don't

  • Re: Wife doesn't like BeoLab 9s
May be time to update the wife??
I should have known this would come up and said up front that this is not an option... Note the first sentence "Normally, my wife has been very supportive of my B&O habit". In my experience, this is an uncommon trait that must not be taken for granted

  • Wife doesn't like BeoLab 9s

Normally, my wife has been very supportive of my B&O habit. I've recently gotten an itch for some BeoLab 9s to replace my old friends, the BL8000s and BL2. I casually pointed them out the other day, and mentioned I might like to get a pair, and she shot me down (even before we got to the price). She said "they so small, I don't like
