[quote user="Opman"] It is misleading to say that FM will be phased out by 2015. The report states the BBC's intention to have a full digital platform by 2015. This will entail all BBC stations switching from FM to Digital. It is not even set in stone that it will DAB, as other platforms such as DAB+ DMB-A and DRM are also being considered

For BD PQ, "I Robot",and "The Dark Knight" can be recommended. As for SD PQ,it is unfortunate that the majority of manufacturers use the provision of a full HD(1080p) panel as an excuse to skimp on the upscaling, and deinterlacing necessary for the provision of high quality SD(from SDDVD,or Freeview). It is generally a cost cutting

Have you done an analysis of your viewing in terms of % time spent viewing SD v HD material? After all,why change to a full HD screen if your viewing pattern doesn't justify it. Additionally how far from the screen is your viewing position? The further away one is,the less likely one is to see a difference between 720p,and 1080p.

[quote user="Flappo The Grate"] what i find so ridiculous is that it's only a matter of some simple tweaking to make the bno tv's really competitive , instead of cutting corners they should be adding useful features like as many hdmi's as possible and using top end 3rd party components rather than the cheapest thing they can find

[quote user="355f"] The BV9 and bv4 are isf calibrated as they leave the factory- the panasonic screen allows for a whole host of changes to be made which makes the screen of of choice for the professionals who set up home cinemas. In respect of lcd I dont know- except to say no one home cinema operator I am aware of uses LCD in high end set

A fundamental question-is the BV7MK3/4,and the BV4/9 for that matter, capable of being ISF calibrated?

Unfortunately very few Blu-Ray players have a high quality SDDVD replay capability, and those that do,with the exception of the Oppo BDP-83,tend to cost £1000+. Hence my reservation that B & O's decision to integrate a BD,rather than an SD,player was a wise one. Is the overall darkening of the BV7's screen due to a screen filter? I

Is not poor SD PQ,especially from the internal tuner,an indication of poor processing/upscaling on the part of the TV? One would not expect this to be the case for a TV at this price point. One does wonder if your unit is a faulty one. How does the retailer's unit compare? I would agree that for allegedly integrated units to be utilising external

The Pioneer KRP-500/600M monitor's only output sockets are the custom connectors for the optional KRP-S04 speakers. These speakers are designed to side mount on the panel, and would look unobtrusive.Pioneer's accessory speakers for their TVs are excellent quality, but obviously can not be compared to larger audiophile speakers. The KRP-M's

Is there any possibility that B & O will incorporate RGB-LED backlighting in the proposed 55" BV7,as has Sharp in their (BV7 lookalike) LC52XS1E,and LC65XS1E models?
