Peter: The question is why? Most people agree that below 42" full HD as it is called is not a huge advance and the number of pixels can actually make SD broadcasts worse. The only reason I could think of somone wanting as high a resolution as that on a 42" screen would be so that they could view it at a much closer distance than a lower resolution

I thought I'd summarise my last post For 2.1 stereo sound + 5.1 movies the best combination is 2 lab 5s and 2 lab 9s - best of both film and music without breaking the bank. For music in enhanced stereo (4 speakers at same time) best is 4 speakers all the same - lab 5 rears instead of lab9 rears won't improve movies very much though - not worth

At home we have a pair of lab 5s front, and a pair of lab 8000s rear and the whole setup sounds fantastic for movies with 5.1 and also fantastic for music with just the two lab 5s playing. We have the best for both films and music. I would highly recommend that you consider buying a pair of beolab 5s as front speakers. They really add a lot of power

MaxG: If you are just after a HDD recorder (and not a burner) have a look at the Topfield TF5800-PVR. I can control it via Beo4 through the STB controller from my BS3. I'm not sure whether these updates are available for your Avant, but I guess B&O could provide this via a firmware upgrade? I asked my dealer when I was looking at PVR options

I hope B&O comes up with something like this beast of a machine. I keep resurrecting it, even though it's not going to come to the UK anytime soon Toshiba RD-A1 http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/22/toshibas-rd-a1-hd-dvd-recorder-with-1tb-disk/ I would kill for one of these. Might cost about £5000 if B&O did make one though "RD-A1

OMG I've been wondering where our old central heating boiler went, thanks Kevin, although I'm a little disturbed to see it in the B&O headquarters - what do they want with my old gas boiler !!! That picture is great - I always wondered what my tumble drier would look like with accoustic lens on top !!
