The expense! The TV, the new house (estate agents fees, stamp duty, tax etc) or an extension to house it - I am not sure I have a wall big enough at present! Brian

The larger bass driver of the Cona is 8" - giving an overall area of about 50.2 sq inches. The Penta is only 5" an area of 19.6 sq inches - but with 4 of them that is the equivalent of 78.5 sq inches. You would need a 10" bass unit to give the same area (Beovox 5700, S75, M75 etc).... Brian

Go for standby - or even switch off (power off) at the mains (see the thread about Power Off v Standby!) if they are not going to be used for a while. I think I am right in saying that these amplifiers need the two extra pins (6/7) to give the feedback after 30 minutes of inactivity to then switch the whole system off. That is why they do not power

To try something like that out you really need a "switching box" and two pairs of Pentas - one of which is connected to a Cona all playing the same music. I find it hard to copmare one after another and prefer to be able to flick between alternatives - especially if someone else is in control so you are as unbiased as possible! Brian

Before you sell it all - check out what you can do with it! If you have some more passive speakers you can operate them at different sound levels in the different rooms or plug a local CD player or tape deck in and have a separate - yet linked system! Brian

Conas were designed to help the CX 50 and CX 100 in smaller rooms. They run a sinlge 8" driver and will take about 60 Watts RMS. I have not tried to connect them (I have 2) up to my Pentas, nor RL140s as they would not help at all. I am considering using one as a centre speaker with an Avant. In my opinion the best bass reproduction from B&O
-
The P50 was designed for the BM6000 as the top of the range speakers were considered too large to have 4 of them in an average room in the 1970s! THe BM4000 was suggested as the top of the (non Quad) range to be used with 5700 and perhaps a pair of 2702 as the smaller ambiophonic speakers. I would think that 4 CX50s would produce a reasonable sound

The English grammar is poor, not up to B&O's usual standards. This sounds more like a scammer's attempt to sound Danish to me!

Montana and Nevada had no speed limits at all pre the oil crisis in 1974. (Montanna had no speed limit again for most of the 90s - safe and reasonable was generally felt to be under about 110mph.) Most other US States had a limit of up to 75 mph or more. A blanket speed limit was introduced at 55 mph as an attempt to conserve oil during the mid 70s
