Well, Peter has emailed me a photo of the speaker and confirmed it is working.......and all he wants me to pay is for the postage..... Isn't this forum and it's members just the BEST Cheers Nigel

Thanks to a very kind forum member it now looks I will be getting an original speaker. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/37950.aspx I had identified 5 or 6 car speakers that may have fitted (see links below) but I'm sure none of them would have sounded as good as an original - these speakers are designed to take some fairly hefty car amplification

Hi Peter You've made my day! I've sent you an email. I had identified half a dozen or so 5"X7" oval car speakers that might have fitted but an original speaker will be sooooooooo much better! Cheers Nigel

Many thanks tournedos, that's great I can now start searching! Cheers Nigel

A month on and I've made very little progress with this As requested in my first post..... Can someone please measure the dimensions (width, height and depth in millimetres) of the speaker in their 1970's Beolit. Please I also need to know the diameter and depth of the magnet Many thanks Nigel

"(sorry if anyone else was after it)" Oh beaker...I was the bidder who bid £2 less than yourself... no need to apologise - that's what ebay's all about - he who wants it most will bid the most, and you also increased your max bid, so you really did want it! It looks fantastic. Interesting comments from Peter about them sounding

Hi Nick I'm very sorry, but I've changed my mind...could I have the speakers back please. They look great! Cheers Nigel
Is there one that could be used to drive rear surround sound passive speakers?
Hi Nick I am FAR from an expert on link components but I think what you're after is one of these http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=979 rather than the bits Martin has for sale. PS I haven't forgotten about those

"The BeoLit Radios are the new kid on the block" You're not wrong Lee - there can't be many item's of B&O that fetch 5 times their original price...... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220749803296&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1156 Cheers Nigel
