The sound quality certainly does vary across BeoSounds, I always thought the BeoSound 4 was the better sounding player for CDs to my ears. FWIW, my CD7000 is actually one of the best digital sources I've listened to...

Personally, I'm a fan. Far more beautiful than any other iPod dock I've seen. Heck even more beautiful than the BeoSound 1 (which I loved), and far, FAR superior to the Century in design (all IMO of course). It's one of those real growers, I wasn't sure at first, but having seen it in the flesh a few times, I think it looks absolutely
£900. Made in China. Outsourced. Sounds pretty poor. Kind of sounds like a FAKE B&O to me like those Louis Vuiiton bags that the ladies in the office bring back from their business trips to China for £20 instead of £900! Oh dear, who would be a fool to buy this BS8? Do you really think it will
Utter garbage. If this is so, then Bang & Olufsen of Denmark might as well pack up and forget about bothering at all. Cheers to B&O of China - thats a product to aspire to! Assembled right alongside Toshibas!!
There are a great variety of cheeses made in Denmark, but I don't think I've ever found
My argument is this. You can manufacture B&O in Denmark and remain profitable. You don't need to make it all cheap and cheerful in Asia. Look at BV7, still selling after 6 years, look at BS9000, still selling. It comes down to quality, style and design. The management clearly lack these traits today.
B&O

iTunes 10.x.x
But I now also recall that at some point in the afternoon we updated some of the iTunes in the house to "10.1.1 (4)" ... so perhaps Apple has fixed it ?
Nope, the latest version of iTunes is still broken. Apparently they are aware of it though, and
The most important is the very good CD-player that the CD7000 is. Never heard a better one. Very clean, very detailed, beautiful bass.
Absolutely; the Beogram CD7000/6500/5500 is an absolutely fantastic sounding deck. Extremely tight low-end, very detailed transparent top-end, a huge, but pin-point accurate stereo

Hi Beoworlders, I'm currently using my Beomaster 6500 to drive a pair of Adam A7 active speakers from the PowerLink outputs. Due to the gain-staging, I have to wind the volume up to ~70 on the amp to get any decent level (works well for me, I can't really turn the volume up as I'm in a flat). Should I be worried that there's nothing

It's most probably an iTunes related issue! I created a new thread a while back about some of the things iTunes 10.x.x has been doing to sound, and one of them is audible crackling/distortion on some tracks. The issue is not the ripped files, it's iTunes actually playing them back poorly. I've been using 'Cog' to play back my iTunes

How obnoxious is the sound coming from the speaker? The 8000s are ported at the top which can chuff a little as you turn the volume up on bass-heavy music...
