I can't think what these will be! What is the Type number - on the sticker on the back - should be T and then 4 numbers. The P series had finished in 1985 and the 3000 and 5000 had not been launched.

I like Beolab 1s but they do have a very specific character. They give the impression of lacking ultimate bass, which as they use the same chassis as the Beolab 9 seems odd! However the bass unit is just not as big and the volume of the speaker is smaller. I suppose it shows that one big bass unit is better than two smaller ones. People do complain

I have compared all of these (Beolab Penta rather than Beovox). My favourite is the Penta. Works best when you are sitting down (the tweeter is then at the right level ) and has extended bass. If one was being critical, the sound is softer in the treble region, but they play loud and don't distort. The 8000 has better treble than the Penta but lacks

No. I would hang on and get a pair of BL5s. A second hand pair would be fine. That way you will have the best of both worlds - bass that you clearly value and much better sound. The BL5 is one of the few speakers which really are a step above most others. The BL9 is good, and better than what you have - but not that much better. I think what you plan

I agree about the Beogram 1700 - indeed the same goes for many of the radial decks. Most are very cheap, have excellent suspension and good sound. The old Hi-Fi Choice volumes rated them highly. The MMC3 is an interesting cartridge - not many about but is essentially a MMC20EN but improved. I think the only deck to have it as standard was the 6002.

I have seen these before - done for dealers - I think there is more- a TV - I think a BV5 and some Beolab 5s. I tried to get some for my daughter's dolls house but they never arrived and besides the house is in the Victorian idiom. I know B&O is timeless but this seemed a bit too much!!

Speakers are very personal choices. You don't say what sort of music you like and what sort of vulume you use. S45.2 are great little speakers but are quite bass light. If you listen to classical or jazz they are great. Rock needs more bass. If you listen to the latter, consider S75s or M70s. You have to rely on recommendations as you cannot go

I think a MCL2p and some CXs will be fine. Tempted to do the same myself. CX50s should be fine - very little bass goes to the rears and you will never have that much power - the MCL2p is only 30W per channel which is more than enough.
