I used to love the stuff Alvin Gold spouted in the 80's in a flat earth hi fi mag , stuff about scratching marks on plugs to improve teh sound and wrapping bits of red plastic round the mains lead. Must say I'm quite excited by the arrival of some new Tv's. The 7 is getting a bit long in the tooth tbh. I would like something like a 10 but w/ better speakers and more hdmi's. Maybe even a thunderbolt connection to replace the whole lot with one tiny simple little connection.. - that explains the whole intel collaboration maybe ?? hmm

I use mine as an access point to a big projector , and the content isn't limited to itunes , it's what ever you can put on your mac and stream wirelessly. Ripped Dvd's via handbrake , elgato eyetv recordings , downloads etc I'm very impressed by the little thing.

Considering the glacial pace of bno r&d any increase in rapidity of product release is welcome imo. They can't keep selling stuff from the 1990's to the chinese especially.

I think the bv7 40 without blu ray is a good value tbh. Shame you lose an hdmi socket whether you have it installed or not though. Personally I'm completely underwhelmed by blu ray. Slow access , mediocre picture in many cases & really poor UI.
