I am in a simoular position. I wanted to go for the BV 7-40 MK III. Now I have the chance to buy a BV 5 MK III from August 2004. The problem is that the seller claims it is HD-ready but that I am not certain it is. (I thought MK IV is the first HD -ready BV 5, can anyone confirm?)
I have seen the picture of a HD-ready BV 5 and in my opinion it is a great picture (als on cable). So if the BV 5 that is offered to me is HD-ready I think I am going to buy it.

Hello Lee,

We only use Sky+ HD boxes in our house because we don't have a good enough aerial signal. Would the BV5 HD work well with the SKY+HD box?

What model should we be looking at to get the best PQ?

Image quality on a HD BV5 is superb! Even though it's 720, it gives an image equal to or better than a lot of non-B&O 1080, and the only annoying bit is that you have to go DVI for the picture and scart for the sound from the HD box...

Have just read the post, I think it would be too much work for me to do. I havn't got that much spare time on my hands,well done though.

If anybody with a HD BV5 can share their thoughts it would be great to know what you think of it.

Hello David,

I had the same idea but came up with a BV5 connected to a BS3. This gave me more flexibility and is more future proof. I even prefer the looks over the BV9.

Hello,

I'm considering a BV5 HD to replace ny DVD Avant which is the hub TV in my house. Could anybody let me know if it is a good set too buy or not? I will be looking for the last of the line model.

I appreciate that the PQ will not be up to modern standards but would the TV make a good stop gap before I could afford a used BV9?
