I ended up purchasing the unit for $125 and tried out the rear aux., and although it worked well, with the jumpers removed, no other signals from the radio or phono worked, so that makes sense. Looks like I'll have to wire up some DIN plugs!

From memory, I beleive these are pre-amp out and and pre-amp in - on the UK version it was a Din Plug with the wires crossed over but on the Beomaster 5000 (1980's) had phono plugs so maybe it's the same on the BC7000. The intention was that you could connect a graphic equaliser in between which was all the rage at the time or I guess a power amp. I once had a 7007 and experimented with the pre-amp out into a Quad poweramp. I might be wrong but am pretty sure this is what they're for.

Yes there are 2 DIN plugs on the front along with the IR window and a loudness button (all recessed below the rosewood veneer) then on the back there are AUX in and out on the hinged connection panel (great design!) along with the speaker and antenna plugs. These 4 RCA jacks have heavy U shaped wires plugged into them to short them out I assume, this must make the DIN active on the front.

I'll go back and check the speaker cones, I assume the small covers pull straight off.

The tape problem will be the belts and these can be obtained.

The Aux socket is worked by attaching a DIN plug into the front socket and pressing P1. I didn't know there were RCA plugs on a BC7000. They were fitted to the 7007 instead of the DIN sockets but a TP2 button was provided then.

The lids are always a problem! I am afraid I don't have a brilliant solution! $150 with C75s is not bad at all - have a look at the surrounds of the bass drivers on the C75s though. The replacement drivers are very expensive - about twice as much as those on the CX100.

BeoCenter 7000 Questions

I have my eye on a BeoCenter 7000 for sale in a local junk shop for $150 It includes c75 speakers. Eveything works but the Tape deck, it deploys the heads and pinch rollers and then retracts. No remote included. The lid does not stay down as the plastic catch is broken and the spring on the turntable cover is weak or broken so it doesn't stay up.

Couple of questions: It has auxiliary jacks with RCA ports on the back but has jumpers in them, are these the same as the DIN Aux on the front and how are they controlled? I don't see a switch.

Does the Tape Deck problem sound like a belt? And are there any sources for that little broken plastic catch on the lid? I noticed its dovetailed into the Aluminum for removal.

Any help would be appreciated!
