If someone is interested.

Mine is also for sale. A mk4 with BV9 speakers and amplifiers.

More accurate sound isn't hardly possible.

Has the rare DVI, Component and VGA inputs for HD video with digital audio input.

Absolutely! Wish I could afford one! My BV-5 will suffice for a year or two more - by which time the BV-9 prices may have come down enough for me to get one

I got a pair of Penta's and a pair of RL60.2s hooked up to mine (Via a Beosystem 7000 connected through A-Aux).I'd thoroughly recommend finding yourself a 'low use' BV-5 - brilliant tv.

The only thing I'd swop mine for (if i could afford one!) would be a BV-9 - personally I would NOT exchange my BV-5 for a bv10 or a bv-7 or bv-8 either.......only a BV-9 I would consider an upgrade from a BV-5

the more i see of it the hungrier im getting for one. its nice and reassuring to hear the noise side of it is on par with the avant, you see the avant is a timeless piece of art with function and i love my two to bits, but one will have to go to make way for a BV5. all your help and input is greatly appreciated.

Yes, the sound is exactly as good as the Avant because the speakers that were used in the BV-5 are the exact same 40W units the Avant had. So as a stand-alone tv, the sound will be exactly as your Avant (i.e. great sound!)

But I must stress, if you already have B&O speakers, you wanna hook em up to the TV because when listening to all sources like music DVD, films, or even just normal tv broadcasts the overall sound is just transformed into absolutely brilliant. If you have any of the more substantial B&O speakers - such as Pentas, Beolab 1, BL6000, BL8000, Beolab 9 or even Beolab 5's - I'd highly recommend you getting em hooked up to your BV-5.
