The room itself isn't finished yet, only using a make shift sofa at the minute, but it should be good when its finished. For anyone interested the furniture is by Huelsta and is from the "Lilac" range.

Dave:

really do like the design of the BV8. The thing is, i can't get my head around the BV8's lack of magic. It doesn't have the electronic curtains and it doesn't have motorised options, and besides the picture quality, those attributes are vital to a B&O television!! It's a ritual for me to come home from work and turn on the TV, always to see it turn to me and open like a cinema, don't you, as BV8 owners miss this??

Dave, I too would have loved the electronic curtains and motorized stand options on my TV, but as you can maybe see, a 40" is probably just too big for the setup! A BV7-32 doesnt have the connections at the minute that I would like, plus it is almost twice as dear :( However, I love the design of the BV8, its minimalist and blends into the environment it is in perfectly. The sound from the speakers belies the size of the cabinet, and picture performance is satisfactory for casual SD viewing and HD viewing.

@ Simon, The living area is about 4.5m square, but there is a kitchen area off the living room, so its about 7 or 8m long!

Cheers,

The BV8 (26 and 32) are "casual TV" in the B&O product line (entry level).

Very nice for link rooms.

To keep the low price, they made a simple (but very stylish) TV with only the essential.

They reserved all the refinements for the high level models (motorised stand, electronic curtain, AR screen...).

But now, with the introduction of the BV8-40, the TV can act as a video master for home cinema.

It comes with the famous electronic curtain we love !

The only thing i miss for the 40 is the motorised floor stand.

And i agree with you, when we think of "a B&O TV", we think of the trademark motorised stand which silently move the TV in our favourite viewing position !!

Re: Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

Dave:

...The thing is, i can't get my head around the BV8's lack of magic. It doesn't have the electronic curtains and it doesn't have motorised options, and besides the picture quality, those attributes are vital to a B&O television!!

Anybody? No?

I agree with you there Dave.

My Beovision 1 had the motorized stand, turning towards my favorite viewing position.

Miss that part of the B&O experience.

But one must remember that the BV8 is essential intended for casual viewing, and as a 2nd room TV.

Still, I think the design grows over time and make a statement. But an electronic curtain would be nice...

Re: Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

Dave:

I LOVE the Beosound 9000, looks fabulous as always, and the red rug looks great with it's red lighting.

I really do like the design of the BV8.

What a perfect minimilist setup you have created Robert. I absolutly love it. Wonderful use of the space and the way you have used the wood on the left side, behind the 9000 and the botoom of the unit is superb. One of the nicest set ups I have ever seen. What is the size of that particular room?

Hiote...

Again, a very nice setup you have created for yourself. I like the 3s up there from a design persepctive; as for round imaging I can't comment as its not an area I know too much about. The BV8 is a lovely television with a really unique design I think. I love the way you have it tilted on the unit, that really does give it the 'the look.' I think the picture is fine on those TVs and I was almost going to buy one but I went for an older BV6 model, only really because it was a good price and I was too tempted by it.

Cheers,
Simon.

Re: Very happy with the Beovision 8 32"

Looks really great Robert, both the setup and the styling! Design and setup-wise the combination BV8-32 and BS 9000 looks perfect. Well done indeed. I understand what you mean with: "I have the feeling it would dominate the furniture".
