I have BeoVision 7 32'', I have bought it one year used for almost 1/2 of new price in mint condition. It is a very nice set, works very good no matter there is only on DVI input for HD, the picture quality is very good and still much better compared to many other brands. I think we can not compare the finish of BV7 and BV8 as BV8 is an entry level TV, entire housing is made of plastics.

I would suggest you should buy BV7 32'' used, they are now sold with very good prices. You also have the opportunity of motor stand and DVD playback as well as MP3. There is also a DDS module included.

All, thanks for the replys and thoughts.

I think i may now wait until after i've completed the building work to my house before making my decision. Hopefully this will give some time to see what the specs are of the next MK version of the BV 7 is in terms of screen and connection inputs (and the cost).

Hey guys, i work at the Mailbox B & O store and can confirm that the BeoVision 7 - 32 will definately be available very soon. The 7-40 will also be made available later in the year

The Danish add talks only about the BV 7 40". I believe I might have read that they sold the 32" without DVD to Hotels, but otherwise I could not see that its worth to do do that "change" to the 32" version. Unless the update is really far out which I am hoping it is not. In fact I am disappointed that they do the BV8 40 before the BV7 32 update, giving that they keep saying they sell more large TVs I can understand why though.

Personally I would want to see the price for the DVD "less" BV7 32", and then I would think very careful about the restrictions that the single DVI port puts out.

In my opinion this TV should not be bought unless used, if one likes the design I would wait for the update to happen. The 40" now thats a different story.

I would compare the two side-by-side. The performance increase on the BeoVision 7-32 seems to be quite large, although the BeoVision 8 is still a very good performer.

The BV7-32 was the first to be shipped without DVD.

Regarding the picture, I actually thinks they are very similar on BV7-32 and BV8-32. I would make my decision based on which design I liked the most.

The price of a BV7-32 screen only almost the same as the price of a BV8-32, but if you don't have a pair of BeoLabs you will have to pay extra for a speaker when choosing the BV7-32.

But a poorer panel, no glass anti-reflection and fewer visionclear functions. My BV8-26 is no way near the level of my BV7-40 when watching a DVD. The colours on the BV7-40 are far more intense, as an example.

It also gets dusty and dirty really easily. I find that I'm always trying to keep it clean. Gawd knows how the white one would fair in my kitchen!

BTW, remember if the BV8 is link connected to another TV, you may be disappointed with the picture quality. My BV8 is connected to the BV7 (master) and Sky HD is relegated to an analogue signal on th BV8, due to the RF box.

I am not sure if that is correct, that you can buy the Bv7 32 without DVD.

All I have seen here sofar is, that you can buy the 40" without. Giving that the current BV7 is so many years behind and awaiting an update some time soon I doubt that they would make the change to sell it without DVD. I would think that comes with the updated model.

I am using a BV8 32" and am quite happy with it. Only small concern I have is, it has only one HDMI port which is not an issue right now but may become one in a few years. Also it doesn't have surround sound, not even optional so that may be a problem.

BV 7 32 vs BV 8 32?

I was hoping for people’s experiences of the Beovision 7 –32 vs the Beovision 8 –32. I would like a 32 inch tv for my sitting room (I live in London so it’s not a big room and anything larger would over power the room).

I was thinking of the BV 8 but now that the BV 7 comes without DVD I’m tempted. However the BV 7 with 7.1 would cost more.

For the next few years it would be mainly used to watch Sky + (SD), DVB-T/Freeview and the occasional SD-DVD. Though I may upgrade my Sky + to HD at some point in the next year.

With that type of use is one better suited that the other? Is the picture quality significantly better on one?

For info, it will be linked to the rest of my B&O system – mainly for the link to the DVD and DAB distributed by a Beocenter 2. (The rest is a Beocenter 6-26, 3 x linked rooms with Beolab 3500 and a beoport).

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated
