MX6000 problems with horizontal lines / See pictures of the problem

Hi forum

I got my old parents to buy a MX6000 because I have had one myself and it was cheep because most people now buy flat screen tvs. They bought it used and unfortunatly it only a few days after showed signs of trouble. It shows horizontal lines on the screen. It is not there always. It comes and goes. There is apparently no patterns to this. It can be there the first time they turn in on in a day, or it can come after hours of watching. It also goes the same strange way. It seams very strange to me. It is not worth spending a lot of money on getting it fixed, but I nope someone here can tell me what might be wrong. Maybe there is even a simple solution.
