The part is only available from B&O dealers and the price is around £25-30. The fitting job should not take more than 2 hours IMHO.

If they try to charge much more then they are ripping the customers off.

The B&O dealer is the only place to get the tweeter and the price is around £25-30

Actually B&O parts are quite cheap. The cost will be labour at the service centre. Most dealers used to have their own service departments but these are being centralised.

£25 plus the cost of fitting is not much money compared to the total price of the speaker.

I can pretty much guarantee that the tweeter has blown and needs replacing. Very common problem .

Can be confirmed by measuring it's resistance with a DMM. Should be low ohms (about 7ohms) but yours will be open or closed circuit meaning it is defective.

Should not be that expensive to fix but you will need to take it to a B&O service center. In the UK the tweeter costs around £25 plus the cost of fitting.

Hello and welcome to Beoworld. Have you tried swapping the speakers over? This will tell you if the problem is with the speakers, cables or whatever they are connected to.

Beolab 8000 speaker problem

I have a problem with my lab 8000's. The sound "stage" is bias towards the RH speaker although balance is set as centre. On further "testing" it sounds as though the tweeter in the LH speaker is not outputting any sound. I'm not sure if this is inferior copies of CD's or a problem with the tweeter or subsequent amp in the unit. Does anyone know of a test cd that I can get hold of to proove once and for all ?

Also if it is a hardware problem withn teh speaker/amp unit how do I go about getting ot repaired.... I live in Turkey !
