Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I just re-checked my connections using my MX 7000 TV and just the DVD 1 player (no V.TAPE connected).

Here are my settings:

AV1 = None
AV2 = CDV

Just the way you describe it.

i have the same hardware: MX8000 and DVD1, here it works perfect.

Ähmmm, how is the AV Port configurated: CDV alias DVD or VTape?

Menu - Options - Sockets ...

VTAPE = Vtape.....= AV1

AV = DVD....... = AV2

I have a DVD 1 connected to my MX 8000 TV.

The DVD 1 player works Ok when I use the control buttons on its front panel. I am also able to start playing using the GO button on my Beo 4 remote control.

Here is my problem: When opening up the menu using the BLUE button or the MENU button, I cannot navigate. If I use the << or >> button, the DVD starts a fast rewind or forward, respectively. It is simply impossible to navigate horizontally between menus, and it is also impossible to navigate vertically, within one menu using the ^ and v buttons.

I have also tried the DVD 1 with my MX 7000 TV. Same result.

I changed to a different SCART cable, but that did not help.

And I tried with different remote controls.

Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?
