    Beocenter 9000 CD Problem

I was actually given a Beocenter 9000 after it was unwanted and i took it off there hands, they said the CD player was broken.

Basically, The cover which sinks and slides doesnt sink, so it whirs away, without anything happening. In short, it wont open.

Any tips on how to get it fixed if people had the similar problem.

Welcome to Beoworld !  Yes - thumbs up

The first things to check would be the belt drive and strings.

    Re: Beocenter 9000 CD Problem

Be careful when you open the BC; it's not the easiest thing!

Attached is a photo of the insides. (The front has a hinge and the top opens like this when some screws are removed; instructions are on the bottom of the BC).

On the top-left corner, where the blue wires go, is the cd-covers driver motor. There is a small (almost visible, from the bottom of the motor to the right) belt that turns the big vertical axel (and there go some white strings that slide the actual cover). By checking the belt and trying to turn the axel by hand you should be able to pinpoint where the trouble is. Of course there is the cassette cover mech where you can compare how it should work (or "borrow" the belt for the cd cover... :)

    Re: Beocenter 9000 CD Problem

    Hi toblerone,

I recently restrung the sliding door mechanism on the cassette side of my Beocenter 9000. When I recieved it, the white strings for the cassette door had been removed. The easy part was opening up the cabinet! Fortunately the CD door strings were intact so I could use them as a guide. Even so, it took my dad and I about 4 or 5 hours to figure out the proper sequence and successfully reattach them. If the drivebelt for the door is the probelm, you've gotten off easy! If your probelm is the strings, I can give you advice to help simplify the procedure.

    Good luck.

Anyone has the reference for the belts or know where to find them?

    Thanks
